London Scottish returned to winning ways this afternoon, easing to a comfortable 29-3 bonus point victory over Jersey in their latest Greene King IPA Championship clash.

Two tries either side of half time secured maximum points for Scottish against the well drilled islanders who never gave up despite being second best throughout.

It was an impressive performance by the hosts and the perfect tonic following two consecutive league defeats with victory consolidating their mid-table position.

The visitors took an early lead thanks to a long range penalty which was sweetly struck by fly half Niall O'Connor.

However the London Scottish response was immediate.

Former Irish internationalist Neil Best made a neat break inside the Jersey 22 before feeding centre PJ Gidlow who stretched over the line for the opening try.

Millar's simple conversion made it 7-3 with barely five minutes on the clock.

Jersey thought they had scored a try themselves soon after when Aaron Penberthy went over having collected O'Connor's cross field kick only to be adjudged offside.

Scottish refused a number of kicks at goal in the opening quarter and this eventually paid off as they claimed a second try.

A superb Miles Mantella break and kick-ahead forced scrum half James Williams to concede a line-out right on the Jersey line.

David Lyons secured ball at the front before skipper Mark Bright drove over from close range.

Millar missed the kick but his side had opened up a useful nine point lead.

Neither side really threatened to score again before half time as the hosts went in at the break 12-3 to the good.

Jersey began the second half brightly going through the phases only for O'Connor to knock on in a good position, much to his frustration.

A Lee Millar penalty eased the Scots into a 15-3 lead on 48 minutes before number eight Bright went over for his second try.

The skipper barged his way through some weak Jersey defending to score a fine try in the right corner.

Millar's conversion was perfect as the former Gala fly half made it 22-3.

Jersey did have chances to close the gap but stout Scottish defending meant they made little headway.

And before long the capital outfit had their bonus point.

Mike Doneghan picked the ball up inside his own half and fed Andy Reay.

He didn't have the legs but the man outside him, Miles Mantella, certainly did, and when the in-form winger got the ball he cruised in.

Millar made it 29-3 landing the conversion.

Jersey nearly forced their way over near the end but were held out by a side determined to keep their opponents out.
