Despite a tight first half, where London Scottish momentarily held the lead, the Blues came out after the half time break and put five tries past the visitors, seven in total.

A hat trick for James Stephenson, two for Ben Ransom and one apiece for Mark Atkinson and Jake Sharp combined with conversions for James Pritchard and Atkinson and a further penalty from Pritchard, sealed Scottish’s fate.

In the first half, Chevvy Pennycook emerged from a sea of bodies after Scottish had been awarded a scrum on the Blues five metre line. Love converted to give a temporary lead.

However, the second half Bedford dominance put them out of sight. Scottish did respond when captain Mark Bright went over and Pennycook then scored his second of the match after breaking through several Blues tackles to give Scottish the chance of going for a try bonus point.

However, it was not meant to be and instead Scottish will be fully motivated ahead of an Athletic Ground clash against Doncaster Knights this Saturday.
