Glengoyne Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky is owned by Ian Macleod Distillers, one of Scotland’s leading independent bottlers and distillers. A proud partner of London Scottish, Glengoyne is the Club’s official malt whisky sponsor for the next three years.

Glengoyne has been producing exceptional single malt whisky for nearly 200 years and the sponsorship aligns one of the finest Highland single malts with a long-standing and successful rugby union club.

Taking its name from ‘Glen Guin’ or ‘Glen of the Wild Geese’ Glengoyne is handcrafted with time-honoured skills passed from one generation of distiller to the next. The Distillery boasts the slowest distillation process in Scotland with patience the key to the Glengoyne journey.

Highly regarded as Scotland’s most beautiful Distillery, close to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park and nestled into Dumgoyne Hill, the Distillery usespure, clean water from a waterfall within the grounds. Malted barley is air-dried rather than dried using pungent peat smoke to produce subtle, yet complex spirit where all the delicate rich fruity flavours are freely expressed.

An investment of time and care, this is an unrivalled Highland malt collection of 10yo, 12yo, cask strength, 15yo, 18yo, 21yo and special edition bottlings – all matured in the finest oak sherry casks from Jerez in Southern Spain.

As well as producing an outstanding malt collection, the Glengoyne distillery also offers a range of entertaining, informative whisky tours and master-classes. In 1904 three men began making tough woollen garments in a small town in New Zealand. John Lane, Pringle Walker and Alfred Rudkin were English natives turned proud Kiwis. Such was their love for their adopted homeland, they named their company after the area in which they settled – Canterbury. From its very beginnings, this was a brand rooted in the New Zealand soil. Like the Kiwi landscape itself, it was rugged and uncompromising. When the time came to give the company a logo, the founders naturally chose three kiwis. Canterbury was becoming a national institution, a byword for Kiwi qualities of trustworthiness, resilience and hard work. Inevitably, the All Blacks would eventually choose Canterbury too. Thus began an association that would last for decades and would etch the three kiwis not just onto jerseys, but into the folklore of the game.

Our sponsored teams are ambassadors for the kit and equipment we provide. Canterbury have been sponsoring high profile teams for nearly our entire existence. We sponsor England, Ireland, Bath, Leinster, Richmond and of course the British and Irish Lions. London Scottish is in good company.
