London Scottish make three changes for trip to Hartpury
Having secured a bonus point win against Yorkshire Carnegie at home last week, the Scots will look to carry that winning momentum into their second away fixture of the season against Hartpury RFC at The Gillman’s Ground tomorrow, kick off 7:45pm.
Head coach Graham Steadman has made three changes to the starting line-up, with Matt Eliet returning at blind-side flanker, and the other two changes come in the backs; Will Magie starting at fly-half alongside Charlie Gowling, who takes over scum-half duties from Josh Barton.
There are only two changes to the replacements bench, with Joe Luca Smith returning having served his four-week suspension and Harry Sheppard, who has recovered from a minor injury.
“I’ve rewarded the boys that achieved the result last week, we’ve only made a couple of changes. Joe Luca Smith has obviously been out for a number of months and he’s now looking to stake his claim for a starting position in the match day XV.
“The squad is looking very healthy; we’ve got good competition for places right across the board,” said head coach Graham Steadman.
On Hartpury, Steadman said: “They’re very difficult to beat at home, so we’ll have to travel there with the utmost respect and be at our best to get a result. A lot of what they do comes off their drive and they’ve got one or two threats out on the edges.
“They’ve got a very good quality fly half who controls the game, in terms of game management. We’ve got to be smart in what we do in terms of their territorial gains.”
