London Scottish can confirm the signings of Ollie Allsopp and Luke Hibberd ahead of next season. Both are young backs who are currently playing in National One, the third tier of English rugby.

Allsopp arrives from National One outfit Birmingham Moseley. The former Hartpury student can play across the backline as a centre or fly half. This season for Moseley he has been used in all three positions during the season. This versatility will make him an asset to the Scots squad next year.

A former Worcester Warrior at Under 18 level, Allsopp has been with Birmingham Moseley since 2017 and made 18 appearances last season. This season he has been a regular feature in the Moseley team.

The 20 year old is happy about the opportunity of playing Championship rugby next season.

“I am excited to be moving to London Scottish next season and taking my first steps into the professional game. I am looking forward to meeting up with the squad for pre-season and getting to work with Graham Steadman and all the coaching staff at the club.”

Joining Allsopp will be former Chinnor winger and current Caldy player Luke Hibberd.

The winger, previously of Chinnor but joined Caldy this summer, has been in fine form this season making over 20 appearances for the north west side in National One scoring 7 tries.

Despite the Caldy side struggling this season as they adapt to the rigours of National One, 22 year old Hibberd has coped well with the intensity and will be looking forward to challenging himself in the Greene King IPA Championship.

Hibberd said of his move to London Scottish, “I am excited to be joining London Scottish next season and beginning my career in professional rugby. The club has a great track record of developing and producing top flight players and I cannot wait to be a part of that. I’m looking forward to getting stuck into pre-season and joining up with lads and coaching staff.”

Director of Rugby Dave Morris was happy to add Ollie and Luke to the squad for next season was looking forward to seeing their development in a full time environment.

“London Scottish are very pleased to have secured the signings of both Ollie and Luke. Both are young, hungry players who are eager to test themselves in a professional environment and the challenges of Championship rugby. We welcomed both players in for a training session earlier this season and were impressed by their maturity and ability. Hopefully Ollie and Luke can really kick on next season and help improve our playing squad.”
