It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our friend and London Scottish stalwart Harry Smyth, who died peacefully on the 9th January 2019, following a short battle with cancer.

Beloved husband to Maureen and an ever present at London Scottish since the early 70s, when he arrived in London from his home town of Paisley. Harry recently retired following which he and Maureen moved from their home in Whitton to Dorset, though was still able to travel to support the club when he could.

Harry was a true rugby man and has followed the club over four decades and witnessed many of the greats that played for the club, as well as many of the younger more modern players of today.

Harry has supported London Scottish through the ups and the downs and through the whole of ‘the incredible journey’.  Harry was a notable figure amongst supporters across the years, travelling to support the club at many household names in the rugby family such as Northampton, Bristol, Newcastle and up the road at Harlequins. He was also an ever present in our rise through the lower leagues at clubs such as Havant, Worthing and Redruth. Wherever and whenever, Harry would always be ‘coming down the road’.

Harry had many friends in and around the club and he will be missed greatly.

Funeral Arrangements have been organised as detailed below. On the day of the funeral Harry’s coffin will be draped in a club flag.
