Panel chair Dr Julian Morris said: “The panel heard evidence from the player who talked through the video footage. He accepted making contact with the head of the Coventry player in an off the ball incident and the panel found that the player had unnecessarily raised his body into the contact.

“As a result of the ongoing injury to the Coventry player, the panel determined the entry point to be top end. There were no aggravating features.

“The player pleaded guilty to making contact to the head of an opponent, has a clear disciplinary record and showed remorse for the incident. As a result, the panel allowed the full mitigation of 50% reducing the final sanction to five weeks.”

Jennings is free to play again on 27 November 2018.
