Former London Scottish centre Alec Coombes has today been named in the Scotland 7s Core Squad for the 2018/19 HSBC World Rugby 7s Series.

Former London Scottish centre Alec Coombes has today been named in the Scotland 7s Core Squad for the 2018/19 HSBC World Rugby 7s Series.

The centre, who also played multiple games on the wing for the Scots, was part of the Exiles set up for four seasons, making 33 appearances during his spell at the club scoring eight tries along the way.

Coombes has made four appearances for the Scotland 7s side including playing in the Rugby 7s World Cup in San Francisco this past summer.

The 2018/19 HSBC World 7s Series kicks off at the end of November in Dubai and is followed by a leg in Cape Town, South Africa.

Coombes joins former London Scots Ally Miller and Robbie Fergusson, who has been made a co-captain of the Scotland 7s side for the new season.
