London Scottish is delighted to confirm the renewal of our sponsorship agreement with Cairnhill Structures, specialist fabricators to the nuclear, rail, oil & gas, power generation, civil infrastructure and construction industries.

The Scottish company will now appear on the back of the new 2018/19 Macron playing jerseys as opposed to the front collarbone like last season. Cairnhill will also be a key part of London Scottish’s matchday experience with their Passing Cage.

Last season Cairnhill made the trip south of the border and attended multiple games down at The Athletic Ground. They were sponsors for the Richmond game last season in December, a game Scottish lost on the last play with an interception try. They were also key sponsors for the 2017 St Andrews Day Lunch at The Savoy, an event where famous artist Jolomo, horse trainer Lucinda Russell and Olympic silver medallist Mark Robertson were all recognised for their achievements.

The steel solution company believes strongly in the support of and commitment to diversity both on the field and in the workplace. They have launched an ‘Engineering Dreams’ initiative which they hope will encourage more girls to get involved in the construction industry.

Cairnhill’s commitment to their Engineering Dreams scheme is also reflected in this season’s sponsorship agreement. They have pledged a commitment to the Girls section, focusing on the Under 13, 15 & 18 teams. They will also have an involvement with the Minis Festival, one of the largest events on the club’s calendar.

Cairnhill believes in equal opportunities for all, no matter whether that’s on site, on the pitch, or in the office. Surveys have highlighted a lack of diversity as being a key issue within engineering and the construction industry, and Cairnhill is aiming to do their part in tackling the problem.

According to ONS statistics, only 12.4% of the UK construction industry workforce was female in 2016. That is why, starting later this year, Cairnhill will be sending representatives to speak to pupils considering their subject choices while at school; to show them that no matter who they are or where they came from, a career in engineering is open to them, and paves the way to building a better world for everyone.

Cairnhill Group Managing Director Neil Watson was very pleased to have agreed to an extension with Scottish.

“Cairnhill are delighted to be able to extend our partnership with London Scottish, especially in becoming official partners with all the Junior and Mini sections at the club. We are committed to helping them deliver a first class training programme for all ages and with one key component, to make rugby fun for kids.”

London Scottish Commercial Director Carson Russell was thrilled to keep a valued sponsor like Cairnhill on board with the club for another season.

London Scottish Director of Rugby Dave Morris and Cairnhill Group Managing Director Neil Watson mark the continued partnership when the squad visited the Cairnhill site in Scotland in August.

“It is brilliant to have Cairnhill back on board with the club for another season. They are avid supporters of the club and it is fantastic to maintain our connection with an esteemed Scottish company.”

Russell continued to mention how Cairnhill would be a pivotal sponsor for the Exiles this season.

“Cairnhill will be at the forefront of our matchday experience this season with the Passing Cage at all our home matches and some other exciting planned matchday initiatives for later in the season.”
