Nic Rouse was appointed Head Coach in the off season and was appointed to work with Director of Rugby Dave Morris who has remained in his position from last season. Rouse will oversee the Forwards and the Defence for the Scots as well as operating as Head Coach.

Rouse is ably joined by Backs and Attack coach Graham Steadman. The former Castleford Tiger rugby league player and Scotland Defence coach was brought in during pre-season and has been marshalling the likes of Richie Vernon, Ben Mosses and Rory Jennings around the training paddock.

Last season’s Highlanders Head Coach Gareth Hatherley-Hurford has also made the step up to the 1stXV and has joined the coaching set up as Skills Coach and will finely tune the players’ individual skills sets.

Last year’s Head of Strength & Conditioning Matt Long has left the club to return back to his native New Zealand and has been replaced by Owen Nicholls.

Nicholls joins the Scots from French side Rouen where, in 2016, he helped them achieve promotion to Federale 1 and the following year helped them to their highest ever league finish as they competed in the playoffs for Pro D2.

Nicholls has lead an exhausting and strenuous pre-season for the new squad but has got the squad physically ready for upcoming slog of the Greene King IPA Championship season.

Club legend Doug Cowie will remain as Team Manager as well as managing some of his other responsibilities in and around the club.
