Craig Duncan joins from Bath University

London Scottish have added hard running centre Craig Duncan from Bath University to their 2018/19 squad.

London Scottish have added hard running centre Craig Duncan from Bath University to their 2018/19 squad.

Duncan graduates with a Masters degree from the red brick University in Management after successfully completing an undergraduate degree in Natural Sciences. He will now leave his academic life behind for a season with the Exiles in the Greene King IPA Championship.

Scottish-qualified Duncan has been playing with Bath University for the last four seasons and, for the last two years, was also part of their BUCS Super Rugby side. Whilst studying down in the South West Duncan also represented Bath Rugby in the A-League competition and in the Singha 7s competition. This past summer Duncan was also selected for the England Students 7s side and toured Europe playing in high level competitions.

Dave Morris was happy to add another exciting young graduate to Scottish’s 2018/19 Championship squad.

“We are delighted to welcome Craig to the London Scottish family after a brief stint in the Academy a few years ago. He arrives after being recommended by Aaron James (Bath University Rugby Head Coach). He has the physicality and skill set to compete in the Championship.”

“Speaking with Craig before we signed him, I could sense a quiet, steely determination to be the best that he can be and these are attributes that are vital for someone in our squad.”

Duncan expressed his excitement at putting on the prestigious London Scottish jersey for the first time.

“I’m really excited to be joining London Scottish, it is a great club with a long tradition. After playing BUCS Super Rugby for the last two years, the opportunity to move into a club like Scottish is a great opportunity to develop my rugby further in a professional environment.”

Duncan has been a part of the London Scottish squad for the majority of pre-season and will be part of the squad for tomorrow’s triangular pre-season games against Watsonians and Hong Kong Scottish.
