This past weekend London Scottish’s touch team narrowly lost out on winning the Teddington RFC Touch tournament. Losing 2 tries to 1 in the final against Old Emanuel.

Held at Feltham RFC, the touch team came into the tournament at a disadvantage, not having any substitutes meaning all the players were going to be playing the whole time without any breaks. An impressive feat which considering they reached the final.

The squad was a mix of players from 16 years old to 50 years old. The squad also contained star Touch player Freya Aucken who has represented England at Touch in this past year. Great to see Freya still representing Scottish.

Despite losing out narrowly and being runners up at the tournament it was still a fine afternoon in the sun for the players and a great get together for some London Scottish supporters.

Community Manager Andrew Evans was very pleased with the outcome. After turning up hoping to coach the side Andrew was actually one of the players to get involved on the day.

“It is brilliant to have London Scottish field a team last weekend and it was great to get involved myself. Scottish provides all different rugby platforms for everybody and touch is something that is constantly growing within the club. Hopefully, after some silverware, we can get even more people down to sessions on a Monday night.”

London Scottish provides Touch sessions for FREE and are open to anyone! Come down on any Monday night at 7.15pm and get involved on Old Deer Park. Is there a better way to stay active over the summer nights?
