Cardiff Blues confirmed yesterday that Jason Harries has signed with them after leaving Edinburgh Rugby after one season.

The try scoring winger had an indifferent season in Scotland’s capital, struggling to hold down a starting berth throughout the year but still impressed in glimpses.

Harries headed north to join Richard Cockerill’s side after two monumental seasons with Scottish where he notched up 22 tries in just 45 matches, a very impressive strike rate. During his two year spell with the Exiles, he was also named in the Championship Dream Team of the year.

The rampaging winger was looking forward to heading back to his homeland and playign in Wales after spending the summer with the 7s programme.

“I’m really looking forward to linking up with the squad and getting stuck in to what will be a tough pre-season.”

“This is the perfect opportunity for me as I take the next step in my career. Having qualified for the European Champions Cup and won the Challenge Cup it is an exciting time to join up with the Blues and the squad must be brimming with confidence.

“There is a huge amount of competition within the squad but that is only healthy and will lead to us being better both as individuals and a team, which is the ultimate goal.

“I am excited to show what I am all about and contribute to the region as we look to build on the success of last season.”

Harries is now Cardiff’s second signing of the summer after announcing the arrival of prop Dmitri Arhip.

Everyone at London Scottish would like to wish Jason the best of luck this season and we hope to see him back to his best form in the Guiness Pro14.
