It is important to have a balanced diet and Albert Bartlett potatoes are a great energy source.

The London Scottish Community Team, led by Community Development Manager Ross Peacock, will lead the programme which begins next week.

The team will be running programmes during the first six weeks of the summer term in Saint Joseph's School, Kingston, Aberdour School, Reigate and Christ Church Primary School, Surbiton.

London Scottish Head of Performance, Tim Harper, who looks after the conditioning and welfare of the Professional team, is hugely encouraged by the initiative which begins its second year on Monday, April 13.

He said: “As a professional athlete, your body is your business.

“To that end, leading a healthy lifestyle is critical to your performance both in training and at the weekend.

“Nutrition is a big part of this lifestyle for our athletes.

“Under the guidance of our strength and conditioning staff and our nutrition consultant, we encourage our players to eat a well-balanced diet based on varied protein sources, fruit, vegetables and a mixture of carbohydrate sources.”
