London Scottish will kick-off their 2014/15 Greene King IPA Championship campaign against Rotherham Titans at Richmond Athletic Ground on Saturday, September 6, 3pm kick-off.

Just four points separated the sides in the two meetings last season with Titans coming out on top on both occasions, which helped seal their place in the end of season play-offs ahead of Scottish in fifth.

London Scottish face an awkward trip to Cornish Pirates in round two before hosting Bedford Blues the following week.

Other notable fixtures come in rounds eight and nine when London Scottish take on newly promoted Doncaster Knights and relegated Worcester Warriors respectively, the latter on Saturday, December 20th.

London Scottish’s first game of 2015 will be away at Nottingham Rugby on the weekend of Saturday, January 3 (date to be confirmed) and the trip to Jersey, popular amongst the Scottish faithful, will be in round 17, Saturday, March 7th.

London Scottish end the regular season as they began it, against Rotherham Titans, this time at Clifton Lane on the weekend of Saturday, April 25th (date to be confirmed).

London Scottish head coach James Buckland said: “I expect Rotherham will be up there near the top of the table once again, so for the fans, having them at home first up, is something to really look forward to.

“Last year, both games were really tight affairs. Rotherham had a fantastic season and they will have lots of momentum going into this season having impressed in the play-offs.

“They have brought quite a few new players in, much like ourselves, but will look to carry on where they left off.”

He added: “Pirates will be in the mix as well so having these two games first up really gives us a clear focus at the start of the season.”

In a new addition to the fixture calendar, the Championship XV concept will be reignited following its 2012 success with the Maori All Blacks.

At a Championship venue to be confirmed, the best XV (English qualified players) from across the league will face Canada on Sunday, November 2, in a showpiece game designed to highlight the breadth of talent on offer in the second tier, whilst providing a unique international experience for players and spectators alike.

Geoff Irvine, Chairman of the Championship Clubs Committee, said: “As highlighted by the sell-out Maori All Blacks fixture at Castle Park, these games offer a great appeal for Championship supporters and players.

“To have a group of players come together who would otherwise be playing against each other is a unique experience, and to do that against an international touring side is very special.

“I hope supporters from across the Championship clubs will support the game in November and come cheer on our boys.”
