London Scottish are pleased to announce the signing of Scotland U20 back Ollie Grove on a two-year contract from Birmingham and Solihull.

The former Worcester man, who was called up to the Scotland squad for last year’s U20 Six Nations tournament, is the brother of current Scotland internationalist Alex, and hopes to follow in his footsteps by establishing himself in the Championship.

Grove said: “I was attracted to Scottish due to their reputation north of the border. Thanks to my involvement with the SRU U20 side, I had been following Scottish’s progress last season with interest. I am also still in touch with the likes of Gary Trueman and James Brown from my time at Worcester, so they had given me great reports of the set-up here. I even went to the Barking game for the final game last season to support them – I couldn’t miss a game of that magnitude!”

Grove’s signing demonstrates one of Scottish’s core objectives: to play a major role in developing young, Scottish talent.

Amor was delighted to receive Grove’s signature: “Ollie fits in with exactly what we are trying to achieve at Scottish. He is a young, talented player who will give the squad a greater attacking threat with his pace and strength, as well as his versatility. We have high hopes for him for this season and in the future, and we are also very pleased to be responsible for developing a player that has already had international recognition from the SRU.”
