Rugby camps prove great success, despite the great British weather!

With the great English weather up to its usual tricks, there was a fear that the London Scottish’s top class rugby camps, due this week, would be in danger of being called off.

But under the expert guidance of Lee Rust, London Scottish Club and Community Development manager, they went ahead – delivering coaching sessions to local players with aplomb.

A number of 1st team players, including Willie Lipp and Ben Lonergan, alongside the hugely popular community coaches and professional RFU staff, combined to produce expert tuition for 100 + budding Jonny Wilkinson's over the three days.

To cap it all off, Simon Amor – former England Sevens captain, and current London Scottish boss – also delivered a session, much to the delight of the youngsters.

A worn out, but delighted, Rust commented: “It has been a really enjoyable three days for everyone involved.

“As we don’t run as many camps as the likes of Harlequins and Wasps – purely due to their size – we believe in quality, and the three days allowed us to really get the most out of the players.

“The boys from the 1st team who come down and help out always comment on how they get a lot out of it, and it gives them a sense of satisfaction to pass on their skills to kids who really look up to them.

“We always aim to give the players that attend a fun and rewarding day, as well as rugby development.”

Well done to Rusty and the boys, but a massive thank you to all the future stars – we thoroughly enjoyed having you, and look forward to seeing you again!
