We are the two inform teams at the top of the league that have consistently played positive, attacking rugby from the outset. As a squad it has been hard to take our eye off this one in the build up to Christmas and the new year, but we have taken each game week by week and, more importantly, continued to improve with each fixture (as I'm sure Cambridge will testify). Now the game is finally here we are champing at the bit to right the wrongs of the away fixture back in September.

To get this game under way hasn't been easy. So a big thank you to all those involved behind the scenes who have fought tooth and nail to secure venues allowing us to prepare for this crucial fixture. We hope to repay those efforts in a couple of hour’s time.

I have no doubt Esher will arrive here confident of beating us this afternoon, they are a very strong team and we have the upmost respect for them. We haven't been beaten at home for 18 months and they will need to be at their very best to beat us at the athletic ground today. It will no doubt be a fiery encounter, as all good derby games are, but one I hope will be packed with the quality of rugby this fixture warrants.

With the renewal rates for the 2010/11 season now confirmed and the form available to download from the membership page, LSFC is putting on an exclusivity period on the season ticket applications for those season ticket holders from the 2009/10 campaign - to be able to choose their seats in advance.
