I went up to watch the Manchester game last Saturday and was hugely impressed with some of the performances from the younger guys in the squad; on and off the pitch in Charlie Baffours case! It was always going to be a tricky fixture because we knew that we were expected to score a lot of points, the danger is that you then go off the game plan and play Barbarians style rugby. Thankfully, for the most part, we managed to avoid this and played to our strengths. I felt sorry for Manchester in a way; there were a lot of young kids thrown in to the mixer who weren't ready for the standards that this league requires to be successful. That said, they worked tirelessly in defence for 80mins and never gave up until the death.
Today we welcome Cinderford, they have won five on the bounce and knowing their coach very well he'll be throwing the kitchen sink at us to ensure they make it six. They have a wealth of experience in the pack complimented by some nice players behind the scrum. It's set to be a fiery encounter and one that we'll be throwing everything at to maintain our unbeaten home record.
