We were confident, passionate and aggressive; everything that London Scottish stands for and our young backrow were ferocious in defence - special mention to Oli Brown who left his shoulder prints across most of their pack. The other special mention goes to our travelling supporters. Not only those who made the trip up to Blaydon, but also those who came down from Scotland. You're voices were heard and appreciated, thank you.
With a win like that under our belts it was only fitting that our social secretary and resident Sommelier (Andy Fahey) stepped to the fore and introduced Red Wine Club. Now don't get me wrong, I'm fond of wine tasting, even when Fahey informed me that my exquisite 2004 Merlot was regrettably from a 'rogue region' I wasn't too despondent, especially as I was informed that I'd only be required to 'taste' my wine a couple of times. However, when I saw that Matt Johnson was in charge of the measurements it became abundantly clear that my Merlot was not going to be swilled around my maturing pallet and spat into a bucket, rather regurgitated in the 19:07 Virgin Express toilet!
With Saturdays win now a thing of the past we have focussed all our attentions on this weekend, and what a game we have to look forward to. We welcome Wharfedale who are brimming with confidence and have started the season superbly to rightly earn their place as joint league leaders. There is no doubt we are up to the challenge and if we want to win this league this is a must win game for us.
