So frustratingly we find ourselves mid table after four games. Some people may have seen this as a reasonable start to the season given we have gone up a league and faced arguably the toughest opponents in the division straight off the bat, but we don't feel that way at all I assure you.
Monday night's video review was tough to watch. Technical and individual errors were naturally highlighted but the overriding theme was that we had another game in the palm of our hand and we didn't close it out. There is no doubt we are maturing nicely but away from home we need to be more ruthless.

The pleasing thing for all involved at Scottish at the moment is that there are far more positives than negatives going forward. Bar the occasional individual error our defensive system is fast becoming an aggressive, slick unit courtesy of the tireless effort of Simon Amor. He leads by example on and off the pitch (the stat sheet pays homage to that!). The second team are also putting in outstanding performances that are piling the pressure on all the time; a big victory away at Glamorgan on Saturday shows the commitment and desire needed throughout the squad to get the 1XV shirt.

This afternoon we welcome Nuneaton to Scottish soil, with similar figures to us this season it looks an even contest on paper. Though with us yet to be beaten at home and the boys still reeling from last Saturday's narrow loss at Esher, they will need to be at their best.
