Frankie going over for a hat-trick of tries. On the representative front, congratulations to Callum Stidston – Nott, who represented Scotland U20 in their victory over Italy. Unfortunately for Arthur Ellis England U20's lost to Ireland and he only got 10 mins off the bench. I have to thank Arthur who put that all behind him and represented the 1st team on Saturday. Well the representative honours don't stop there. James Brown represented the Baa Baas last Tuesday and joins Frankie in achieving that honour this season. These representative honours are richly deserved for the commitment put in by these players.
Well back to the 1st xv. Manchester was a good performance and saw some strong performances from players who have not regularly started. This backed up our decision to play the Cinderford game on the Saturday and not choose to postpone as a result of having 3 players on international duty. We have strength in depth and players who can step up. For all of those that did not make the journey to the Forest of Dean the game would never have been played at Richmond. Surface water everywhere on the pitch. But this is rugby country and a chance to hinder the opposition. Credit to our players. No moans, rye smiles and a 1st half defensive performance that was the most physically accurate of the season and built the foundations for a well earned victory.
