Alex Kent and Callum Stidston - Nott who are in the Scotland u20 Squad
George Merrick (lock) and Kyle Sinckler (prop) from the Under 17's who have been chosen to represent England U18's in their match v France at Newbury on Sunday. George is in the starting line up, whilst Kyle is on the bench. Good luck to them both!
A very weak link but Arthur Ellis - hooker who has played 5 1st team games this season and Peter Elder - lock, who are part of the Wasps Academy and on loan have both been involved with England u20's.
Congratulations to all of the young players.
It has been a tough 2 weeks on the road. The game v Blackheath I thought was a great game of rugby.... although I did not feel that at the time! Both teams wanting to play expansive rugby and it turned out to be an 8 try thriller with us holding on at the death. Credit to both teams. I was really impressed with the Development team who lost at the Death against a strong Blackheath second team. I do not thank the coaches and the players of the Development squad enough for their commitment in driving the club pathway forward but this game showed it working and that we have strength in depth and a meaningful development process. Thank you all involved.
Last Saturday saw the marathon trip to the Yorkshire Dales. 7am ready at the club, all players prepared with their food and Colin so excited about the coach!!!!!!!
The first half saw Wharfedale dominate physically which knocked us off our stride a bit. This was made worse by the sending off of Oli Brown just before half time. 10 - 6 down and 14 men. A second half to show mental strength and team Character. This came out in abundance as we slowly got a foot hold in the game and with 2 tries by David Howells and a long range conversion by James Brown put the game out of reach with 6 mins to go. It was also nice to hear the crowd go quiet!!!!!! Really proud.
The trip home was worth it. Even sitting next to Matlock for the last hour!!!!!!!
