BROUGHTON HAT-TRICK HELPS SCOTTISH GO JOINT TOP
Charlie Broughton claimed a hat-trick and picked up the man-of-the-match award as London Scottish scored an emphatic 33-10 victory, including a vital bonus point, over Cambridge following a hard-fought, physical encounter between National League 1’s second and third-placed teams at the Athletic Ground this afternoon. With Esher’s match away to Cinderford falling victim to the weather, Scottish join the league leaders on 61 points at the top of the table but have played one more match.

TWO TRIES FOR BROUGHTON AS SCOTTISH BEAT STOURBRIDGE

London Scottish secured another four points to maintain second place in National League One following a dour, forward-dominated match against a strong Stourbridge pack at the Athletic Ground yesterday. Thankfully, the wind and rain that had battered the South East during the week abated, allowing for decent, if overcast, conditions for the match.

The Black Country outfit have more experience than anyone else of playing at this level – they are in their ninth successive season in the third tier of English rugby, and in the two decades since the National League system was introduced, have switched divisions only once, when they secured promotion from National League 2 North in 2001.

London Scottish came back from being 14-6 down to beat Otley 37-14 at the Athletic Ground yesterday to clock up their seventh successive victory in National League 1. With five tries scored, the hosts sealed the bonus point to help narrow the gap on lead leaders Esher, who beat Launceston 10-6 away from home, to four points.

NEALE PENALTY CAPS LONDON SCOTTISH COMEBACK TO BEAT REDRUTH

London Scottish 11 - Redruth 10

Full-back Frankie Neale celebrated receiving a Barbarians call-up this week by putting a late penalty over to give London Scottish victory over Redruth at the Recreation Ground yesterday. Those three vital points put the visitors in front for the first time in a match during which they had trailed 10-0, and keep the side second in National League 1. With closest league rivals Wharfedale and Cambridge both losing, the latter to leaders Esher who maintain their five-point gap at the top of the table, there are now six points between Scottish and the chasing pack.

LONDON SCOTTISH SURVIVE HALOWEEN FRIGHT TO GO SECOND
London Scottish ran out 26-18 victors against Cinderford at the Athletic Ground this afternoon after a very hard fought National League 1 match at the Athletic Ground. But the hosts suffered a fright, appropriately enough for Halloween, as the visitors took the lead with just minutes left. Scottish scored three tries to the visitors’ two, but move to second in the table due to Wharfedale suffering their third successive defeat, and also make up ground on league leaders Esher, who lost at Sedgley Park.

SCOTTISH TAKE WHARFEDALE'S 100% RECORD TO GO FOURTH IN TABLE
London Scottish 37 Wharfedale 16

London Scottish ran in five tries yesterday to claim an emphatic victory over previously unbeaten Wharfedale in a National League 1 encounter at the Athletic Ground. The win puts Scottish fourth in the table on 25 points, the same as Wharfedale, although the Yorkshire side have a superior points diference and lie third.   On an overcast, blustery afternoon, there was an early scare for the hosts as Wharfedale left wing Simon Horsfall picked up a loose ball inside the Scottish 22 and almost put Chris Malherbe over for a try, the outside centre spilling the pass.
