The event which is only in its second year of running, was originally developed between Grey Court School and London Scottish to celebrate some of the growth that had been achieved within the local emerging schools. However, expansion of the tournament this year also attracted some of the South East's premier rugby schools. Aside from an unfortunate last minute change of venue with the year 8 tournament there was some fantastic rugby played over the 3 days and in great spirit of the game.

Grey Court School did themselves proud with a number of notable performances, reaching semi-finals in the cup competition at year 7 and just missing out on silver wear to Teddington in the year 8 plate final. Dame Alice Owen were also formidable competitors throughout, losing to Hampton in the year 7 Cup tournament and producing probably the best match of any by sneaking a nail biting cup semi-final against Teddington before becoming runners up to a very strong Hampton side in a great year 9 final. Orleans Park, winners last year, once again showed their ability to produce 7's teams of the highest standard but unfortunately couldn't get their hands on any silver wear. The local schools also returned in force this year: Isleworth & Syon doing themselves proud by winning both the year 7 and year 9 shields whilst St Marks, HCC and Whitton picked up awards for Sporting attitudes.

Many thanks to the teachers that brought sides to the tournaments, to Grey Court School and to Richmond School Sports Partnership for supporting the event.
We will hopefully be seeing members of both (with supporting pupils) at the Charity Teachers XV game on the 17th April, curtain raiser to London Scottish's last home game of the season. Ex Scottish International Kenny Logan is set to captain the teacher's side whilst Ex England International and BBC commentator Brian Moore will be taking the reigns as referee.
