With last year's outstanding Esher side having returned to the Championship at the first time of asking, the race for promotion from National One is set to be hotly contested between a whole host of teams. With that in mind, the double header against Scotland's two premier semi-professional outfits will provide Amor's men with ideal preparation for the upcoming campaign.
Said Amor of the trip: "This is the first time we'll see our new players in a competitive environment, and it will be really important for the coaching staff to see how the boys have come out of a pretty thorough pre-season programme.
"We are in much better shape than this time last year, with us being lucky to be able to have a number of full time players. This enables us to work with them much more closely, and monitor their diets and their recovery periods, amongst other things.
"We are using these two games purely to get the guys up to speed, and start building up a tight unit. It is the first step on the ladder to what we hope will be a successful year."
As for Scottish's two opponents, they can both be counted as two of Scotland's most recently successful clubs beneath the professional set-ups of Edinburgh and Glasgow respectively.
Currie were the winners of the Scottish Hydro Electric Premiership last term, piping Ayr by three points in the penultimate game of the season to take the title from their near rivals.
They went onto play Japan in a high profile friendly not long after, and eventually succumbed 35-17, but only after giving the tourists a thorough examination.
After their encounter under lights on the Friday evening, Scottish then head towards the south west of Scotland where they take on Ayr, who consoled themselves by winning the Scottish Hydro Premier Cup Final.
After beating Melrose by 36-23 at Murrayfield, the Millbrae side did not have much of a break, and have already started their pre-season campaign, losing out to Premier 2 side Gala last weekend.
Despite that, both teams will provide a stiff test to Amor's men, who will look to set out a marker of intent for all the clubs with serious aspirations for National One success this year.
